Types of Industrial Hoses Based on Area of Application

Industrial hoses today are used for a variety of purposes across a wide range of industries. These hoses are specifically designed to meet the particular requirements of the application where they are being deployed. Here in this article we will look at some of the most common types of industrial hoses based on their application -

  • Acid and Chemical Hoses: These hoses are lightweight and flexible and are designed to transfer corrosive substances safely as well.
  • Food and Beverage Grade Hoses: These types of hoses will comply with the sanitary requirements set up by the FDA and are engineered to resist abrasion as well as soiling on the outside. Also these hoses will not impart any taste to the food/beverage item.
  • Petroleum Transfer Hoses: These hoses are quite tough yet at the same time easy to handle. They are used for transferring and dispensing oils, commercial gasoline and other petroleum products.
  • Steam Transfer Industrial Hoses: These hoses are designed to safely withstand temperatures of about 450oF and pressures of about 250psi including both saturated as well as superheated steam either wet or dry.

In addition to the above mentioned types of industrial hoses there are a few other types also such as material handling hoses, air hoses, water handling hoses etc.
