Trelleborg To Prove Its Mettle In Brazil

Trelleborg is scheduled to exhibit its large product portfolio for the offshore industry in October in Brazil. Scheduled to be held from October 4 to October 6, this would be the first ever Offshore Technology Conference (OTC). The Trelleborg team would be in Booth 501.

At the exhibition, the Sealing Solutions, Offshore and Industrial Hose businesses plan to exhibit various new technologies, a host of Explosive Decompression Resistant (EDR) materials as well as oil hoses that have been especially designed for deep-sea and gas applications.

Phil Walsh, Global Marketing Manager at Trelleborg Offshore, said, “Our commitment to the oil and gas industry can be further demonstrated through our new Brazil facility. It will be dedicated to the production of a wide range of syntactic, buoyancy and polymer-based solutions for offshore topside and subsea oil and gas exploration when completed in January 2012. It will bring us closer to the action.”

The company had acquired a Sao Paulo factory in April 2011, where production has begun. This factory targets Brazil, which has gained importance in the oil and gas industry. Elisabete Askinis Wilhelm, Technology and Quality Manager at Trelleborg Industrial Hoses, said, “This new business will focus on specially designed oil hoses for surface and deep-sea applications for the strongly growing offshore oil and gas extraction industry in Brazil, and represents an important step in our quest to strengthen our presence in this significant area.”

The Offshore Technology Conference in Brazil is expected to be a strong platform to take Trelleborg’s solutions “directly to the people who can benefit from them most,” added Eric Bucci, Oil and Gas Segment Manager for Trelleborg Sealing Solutions Americas.

Trelleborg intends to showcase its XplorR(TM) range of EDR materials, its FlexiMold(TM) technology as well as its TRELLINE oil offloading lines (OOL) transfer system.
